Five of the best places to visit just over the Channel. Travel is so easy by ferry – you can fill your car with luggage or leave it empty to fill with cheese, wine, liqueurs (you know the ones, those sticky, after-dinner tipples they make from everything from quince to walnuts – I like them, can you tell?) brocante, or anything else you can ram in. Anyway, here is my take on the best places just over the Channel:
Montreuil-sur-Mer – for food, food, wine and more food. Oh and a really nice river. More on the place here: http://bit.ly/CBMontreuil
Le Havre, Deauville and Honfleur – Out of these three, I love Le Havre best. Here’s why: http://bit.ly/CBLeHavre
D-Day beaches – Learn about this really really important event in history (another story here: http://bit.ly/CBDDay) and Bayeux is also a lovely little place – more on that here: http://bit.ly/CBBayeux).
Saint Malo – love this place for its fantastic creperies, its ramparts and seafaring history, but it does get a bit busy. More stories on it coming soon.
Roscoff – Best click on the Brittany stories for Roscoff, I love it so much I’ve written about it in as many places that’ll have it!
