When the level of the River Seine rose by nearly six metres, many wondered if there would be a repeat of 1910’s floods. Thankfully it receded a few days later and everyone breathed a sigh of relief. In the meantime, I filed this eyewitness report from the Eurostar departure lounge and it was live a few hours later.
